« Anson Loses Bid On Bankruptcy Venue | Main | Dispute Between Former 4Star Accounting Firm and Bankrtuptcy Trustee Heats Up » October 23, 2006 Trustee: Key Four Star Suspect In HidingA recent filing by the Four Star bankruptcy Trustee states that Dana Pierson, who served as a close associate of Mark Cohn’s at Four Star, now appears to be hiding from authorities. According to the court document: “Defendant (Dana Pierson) has yet to be served and apparently is hiding to avoid both civil complaint and potential criminal penalties.” Pierson was sued by the Four Star Trustee in November of 2005 for allegedly aiding and abetting Mark Cohn in the suspected Four Star Ponzi fraud. In his complaint, Trustee Richard Marshack alleged that Pierson “was intimately involved in the transfer of Four Star funds to off-shore accounts for the benefit of herself and Cohn.” In another recent litigation update, the Trustee revealed that former Four Star attorney Lawrence Taggart filed for personal bankruptcy. The Trustee filed suit in 2005 alleging that Taggart aided and abetted the Four Star Ponzi by receiving at least $11 million of Four Star funds into his attorney trust account between January and March of 2000. The Trustee alleges that Taggart “funneled much of the money he received back to the control of Mark Cohn so that Mark Cohn could return the money to Four Star as alleged income from other investments.” |
